The following Memorial Stone is to be found in the Bridekirk Churchyar d, on the left of the main path to the church above the point at which t he path from the rectory joins it:

"John Moncrieff of Papcastle
died 29th April, 1863, aged 67.
Sarah, his wife,(died19.9.1878) aged 83.
Also Ashley Moncrieff, their son,
died at Barrackpoor, India, July 7th, 1843, aged 25.
Jane their daughter, died May 7th, 1846, aged 28.
John their son, died at Dublin, 14th August, 1851, aged 29.
Two infants.
Wilson Moncrieff of Papcastle. Died March 17th, 1875, aged 50.
Joseph Moncrieff, died 22nd Novem,ber, 1875, aged 41.
