West Cumberland Times -17.2.1877 The inquest on William Moncrieff, killed in an accident at Megramfitz Coll iery, Greysouthen. William Moncrieff, aged 51, aged 51. Identified by his son, Thomas. Willi am went down the pit at 5.30 and was crushed and killed by a fall of frees tone. He left a wife and nine children. His eldest son, William, a stonema son, died from illness on the following day. They were buried together. T he funeral was attended by a procession of Good Templars, to which organis ation they both belonged.
